Last week was spent at the Outdoor Show in Friedrichshafen, signing posters and talking to people on the 5.10 booth... It was a super full-on 3 days. I find these events crazy and kind of fun, but also exhausting. There is so much going on, it is a total information overload and I do not think I have ever talked so much!
The atmosphere at the 5.10 booth was always very lighthearted and fun though, and it was really nice to hang with the crew for a few days. We were all staying at a nice hotel out in the woods in a tiny German village - A total escape from the craziness of the Show. We even went for walks through the fields together, and enjoyed long evenings drinking wine and discussing anything and everything!
Three days were more than enough at the Outdoor show - I escaped at the first opportunity soon as I could, and headed straight for the Dolomites. After five hours of driving I found myself in the midst of incredible limestone towers. It is a stunningly beautiful place with a massive amount of amazing climbing... If you can deal with a little loose rock! More about the Dolomites soon...
As most of you have probably noticed over the last while I have been wearing a lot of stripes and bright colors... Yes, it is true, I am very happy to announce that I am now officially part of the Adidas Outdoor team. It is a very exciting for me to be a part of such a large and motivated company. It was also great to be able to spend a bit of time hanging out with the Adidas crew while at the show, getting to know them better and meet the other athletes on the team.
Unfortunately though, this has meant that I had to leave Earth Sea Sky - A sad moment for both me and the team there, who welcomed me into their family, and have helped me to the best of their ability throughout my climbing career. I am extremely grateful for the support ESS has given me, they really have helped me achieve my dreams and get to the level I am at now. Thank you for everything David and Jane!
